Joseph O'Brien

Joseph O’Brien is a former lecturer in law at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Initially he had a mixed practice of crime, family and civil work, typical of a circuit junior. For over 10 years he has specialised in personal injury, medical law, employment law, disciplinary tribunals and judicial review/public law. He has appeared in cases in the County and High Courts, the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords. He has also appeared in the Employment Tribunal, the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Special Education Needs Tribunal, the Mental Health Tribunal, the General Medical Council, the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and the Police Appeals Tribunal. He is Head of Paradise Chambers’ Civil Team.
